I'm ROCHEL P. TUQUIERO. Here is my short story but full of beautiful memories in my childhood. A years ago, I experienced a luxurious life—not because of material things, but because of the beautiful memories I had during my childhood. I truly enjoyed my younger years because I experienced many simple yet unforgettable moments. I used to play with my friends and kababata in the streets and on the farm, which became our playground. Nowadays, people call that being a “batang kalye,” but for me, being a batang kalye was one of the best experiences of my life. Every morning until evening, my friends and I would play nonstop. We only stopped when our mothers started calling or scolding us to go home. Those moments were full of laughter, happiness, and freedom. We didn’t care about gadgets or expensive things because we were already content with the games and adventures we shared together. Looking back now, I can’t help but smile and laugh because those memories gave me genuine happiness. They are memories that I will treasure forever. Now that I am in college, everything has changed a lot. College life made me realize the true reality of life. It is not always easy because there are many responsibilities, challenges, and pressures that I need to face. However, despite the difficulties, I am also learning many valuable lessons. I am becoming stronger, more independent, and more mature as a person. Even though life is different now, I still carry the happiness and lessons from my childhood. Those memories remind me to enjoy life, appreciate simple moments, and value the people around me. My childhood may already be in the past, but the joy and memories it gave me will always stay in my heart.
